Our CHL courses provide the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) required classroom training and the firearm proficiency qualification you will need to obtain you CHL. Our courses are taught by a Certified CHL Instructor who is an active law enforcement officer that believes in program integrity while providing you with professional instruction. We limit our class size to give you the attention you need to get the classes full impact.
The CHL course covers topics such as: TxDPS CHL Licensing and Rules; Safe Handling and Storage of Firearms; General Information on Handguns and Ammunition; Non-Violent Dispute Resolution; and Use of Force. Our courses also cover information on Situational Awareness, Mental Preparation, and what to do after a Critical Incident.
Capitol CHL Classes also offers private and group classes that can be taught at your home, office, or other locations within the State of Texas. Call to speak with one of our CHL instructors to inquire about private CHL classes.
If you are not familiar with your handgun or not confident in your shooting abilities; our CHL instructors also offer courses, aside from the CHL Course, designed to train you with your firearm handling and skills. The firearms training course is conducted at an outdoor range and is scheduled as a small group or private individual training session.
